In this blog, we summarise the recent OZEV EVHS (for homeowners) changes to the home charging grant, that will be coming in to force from April 2022.

What's changing?
As of April, the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), which currently provides up to £350 for customers installing home charging units, will no longer be open to homeowners (including people with mortgages) who live in single-unit properties such as bungalows and detached, semi-detached or terraced housing.
Who will still be eligible for the grant?
The scheme will only remain open to homeowners in flats and people in rented accommodation.
Can I still access the grant before it ends?
The OZEV EVHS grant (for homeowners) ends on the 31st of March 2022 and cannot be claimed for installs completed after that date. It is unlikely now that new applications will receive this grant as all installation slots have already been booked up until the end of March.
