Zoom EV Community is driving the UK's Zero Carbon Revolution
Climate change is real and human activity is responsible.
A new report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has found that the world could warm by 1.5°C by the early 2030s, much earlier than previously estimated. We’re already seeing the result of temperatures rising – with heatwaves in Greece, forest fires in Australia, coral bleaching and extreme flooding in Germany and China – we are seeing the impact worldwide.
The IPCC report says it’s not possible to achieve the low level of warming aimed for in the Paris Climate agreement (to keep the rise in global temperatures well below 2C this century and to pursue efforts to keep it under 1.5C) unless we take serious action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The IPCC report findings will be the focus of discussions at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) this November. This is a key summit where leaders will come together to devise a “Greenprint” of how we can still meet the Paris Climate targets through reducing emissions from our seas and skies, roads and railways, setting out a credible pathway for the whole transport sector to reach net zero by 2050.
On a positive note, there are many ways for us to reduce these emissions including transitioning to 100% renewable energy and decarbonising transport. In the UK, the Government have launched an ambitious transport decarbonisation plan which will help us build back greener. The plan will consult on ending the sale of all new, polluting road vehicles – cars and vans by 2035 and HGVs by 2040. They will also look at smart electric vehicle charging that could reduce energy bills, and a commitment to electrify the entire fleet of government cars and vans by 2027.
Zoom EV and our Partners are taking the lead on reducing UK emissions

Whilst changes are being made at Government level, there is still a big reliance on Businesses and Individuals coming together to help achieve these targets and to do so quickly.
Zoom EV are working together with businesses and individuals to create the UK’s largest electrified community focused on reducing carbon emissions and driving positive change. We are helping businesses connect with individuals to build a community that could be the blueprint for how we live in the future, one where the change to electric vehicles is simplified and community EV sharing is widely available. Not only would this create cleaner, quieter cities, but help communities have a better quality of life with improved movement of people.
Already Zoom EV have brought together major brands including Direct Line Group, OVO, BP Pulse, Osprey, Plugsurfing, EO, Co-Charger, Q-Park, Voltric, Jardines Motor Group, and Hendy Group, to facilitate the UK’s transition to Electrified Vehicles; together we can achieve more and together we’re making our planet a better place.

How are Zoom EV and our Partners accelerating change?
With Hendy Group and Jardines Motor Group, we’re helping customers make the switch to EVs, helping them to understand the lifestyle changes of having an EV and overcoming any fears. Zoom EV and our Partners can help customers with leasing or sales of new and used vehicles.
Through our Zoom EV Driver Benefits Bundle, we make running an EV simpler and more affordable by providing people with discounts and benefits across home charging, public charging, parking, home energy and EV accident aftercare.
With EO and BP Pulse, we’re helping people charge easily at home. With Osprey, our customers can use green energy to rapid charge on the go. And with Co-Charger, we're enabling individuals to share home chargers as not everyone can have one.
With Direct Line Group, we're helping people access motor policies which cover their EVs and making it simple to get a quote.
With OVO, we’re powering people’s homes and vehicles with 100% renewable energy.
With Jardines Motor Group, Hendy Group and our peer-to-peer community of EV drivers, we’re enabling people to share EVs flexibly rather than everybody owning their own vehicles, significantly reducing the number of cars on the road.

Our CO2 savings show just how powerful we can be together and the difference we can make when we're a community striving towards a common goal.
Zoom EV was founded with the goal of reducing CO2 emissions, it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. We'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU AND WELL DONE to all of our Zoom EV community – from our individual members to our incredible partners. We've got a long way to go and a lot of work to do but what a great start.
